If your parents let you go to a foreign country, on their dime, you’d call them when you go there, right? Well my brother, who got to go to Venice for the film festival, has been there for at least a week and he has yet to call but once, and that was only a few days after he arrived. That does sound so horrible, so inconsiderate. My grandma always made sure to see me off and then I had to call her when I got back to Rockford (she lived about 2 hours away, near Kenosha) or she would worry. Also, she told me to say my prayers all the way there. Say the rosary and turn the radio off. Last fall, I went to this church retreat thing with Intervarsity and she told me to make sure that I said my prayers. I laughed, but that was always her way of worrying. That is so inconsiderate. My sister went to Europe for three weeks in 1998, and she had to call my grandma every day or my grandma would work herself up so bad.

Ah the rosary, yes there are people in my family that say the rosary whenever traveling, I not being one of them, but that is sweet, really good to see she cares.

That's a good granddaughter there. Yes, it's one thing to forget to call from a sleepover, which I always did, but to not call from Europe, that's bad.

Did you sister have a nice time? Any form of travel is usually good.

Yeah, she went with her class from school and enjoyed it. They went to England, Germany, France, and Poland.
