I finally got around to starting the fic about Devin being mentally unstable. It's going to be multi-chaptered! Okay, a LOT of Devin fic involves him being mentally unstable because Devin, but this one is about his mental illness.

Dude I am already in love with this fic you don't even know. Devin's voice is pretty fucking spot on -- he would be more fragmented after Eric's death, wouldn't he?

It'll be interesting to see where things go from here. :)

He would be more fragmented, yeah. I do hope the fic is as engaging in future installments as it is here. I don't think the Home for the Intractably Insane is going to be a very pleasant place!

I love this... It made me feel sorry for Devin and I can totally see it going down this way. This is one of the parts of my canon I haven't explored much because I don't think it is going to be in any of the books. I like the idea and execution of the Men in the Not-White Coats and the Office of Mental Hygiene the best.

And I can totally see Devin hallucinating Eric after his death, especially since I doubt he slept much during that time. If I had to guess, he didn't make it very long after Eric died before he ended up in the Home For the Intractably Insane.

Really good job and I'm loving it so far. :)

Aw, I'm glad you enjoyed this so much! <3 I have to give "real life" some credit for the Office of Mental Hygiene, as there is a REAL version in my state -- the term "Mental Hygiene" is just SO MUCH something the people on Devin's side of the fence would come up with.

I'm happy hallucination!Eric worked for you. It's fun exploring a part of canon that hasn't really been covered so much. I don't believe Devin lasted very long "on the outside" at all, oops. I'm glad the Men in the Not-White Coats worked. And, of course, Riley showed up! Heh, I wonder if his cousin or brother or something works in the Home for the Intractably Insane, but that would probably be too confusing.
