Oh, Dylan. Of course you went to eavesdrop. Of course you did. But I do like that Xan admitted he loved Dylan here. It was very cute. And awkward. These two have a long road ahead of them.

At least he's kinda acknowledging the fact that going off-planet won't fix everything. Here's to hoping that things go at least a little better. For a little while, anyway. ;)

Awkward? Now awkward is a thing I can do! I'll bring the awkward! And they do have a long road ahead of them if this is going to work. I have a feeling Xan might tell the overeager Dylan he's not ready for a Soulbreaking, and then Dylan will be sad and think it's because Xan doesn't actually love him. And there will be drama.

He's kind of acknowledging it. Kind of. We shall see if that sticks.

Why am I not surprised Dylan's eavesdropping?

For once, Xan is actually being useful. I'm surprised and impressed he actually understands Dylan's most likely not going to be happy wherever he goes unless he works on his issues. And that's a good setup for the whole door-not-opening scenario, should you choose to use it in your canon. And it's refreshing that Dylan's parents are aware enough to get he's probably already having sex with the dude he's running off to another planet with.
