Do I look like the goddamn bank?

    I'm not exactly sure why whenever someone in my family needs money they ask me.  Do I look like I just stuff cash under my mattress?  I have bills to pay too, I have groceries to buy, I have loans to pay back.  My husband and I make $3k per month put together.  I do not have extra money just laying around

Really, it was unfair of her to put you in that position and you have no responsibility to do it. I wouldn't do it. It's not being selfish, it's planning ahead. You can't build your future going from paycheck to paycheck.

Are you going to school in Hawaii? I'm taking an anthro class this semester and I'm finding it incredibly interesting!

I had to defer until this fall because things were too crazy after just moving. Right now I'm developing a budget in order to save enough money to cover the semester without loans. What anthro class are you taking and who's your prof?

I know it's not being selfish to refuse, and I would do so with any other family member (which is why my mother has disowned me. I should post her dramatic flouncy email for lulz). However, my grammy raised me, she's the only person in either of our families that does anything for us. I know she would pay me back, but how can I give something I don't have? Ugh, it's just frustrating
