Wow. Sad Commentary.

I went on Pinterest just now...and a college friend of mine, who happens to be black, had posted a bunch of pics of strong and influential black women of history on her Pinterest feed.  It was really inspiring.  It was great to see pics of these strong, talented and famous black women who beat the odds in times where they were more than likely to ( Read more... )

On the one hand, yes, it's horribly sad. On the other hand, a wise man once told me that people howl the loudest when they're losing. Those violent, misguided people that are trying to hold half the population back are in decline, and they're furious about it. Furious enough to attack schoolgirls with acid, which just drives the moderate center farther away from them. The internet is a place where anybody can say anything anonymously, so of course those that can flock here to shout out their hateful opinions. But the fact that they feel the need to shout- they are demonstrably on their way out.

You are a beautiful, brilliant (half) Pakistani woman that I am proud to call my friend. Hold your head high, woman!
