I am still not sure if I like it or not.
On the one hand it certainly has presence and will probably end up growing on me like The Gherkin, but on the other it does look very much out of place especially behind St Pauls.
Still, London's history has always been about change and reinvention I suppose.

There's certainly something about that image- Mammon looming over God. :o)

In the photo, it looks a lot closer to St Paul's than it really is. In fact, it looks as though it's next door to St Paul's, and a fair way from Guy's hospital, whereas in fact 'tis the other way around. I've stood at the bottom of it, looking up - not for the faint or vertigo hearted!

I'm looking forward to being able to take my trusty camera to the top of the Shard. I thought Guy's was tall, but it's thoroughly dwarfed by its new neighbour.

On a previous trip to Nodnol I took a few piccies of the Shard from its base looking up.

I'm not sure whether I'd be able to go to the top of it. My fear of heights tends to kick in at some awkward times.

I'm OK as long as I've got something to hold on to. It wasn't easy standing at the bottom looking up though, even though I was firmly rooted on the ground!
