I was in town this morning on the way between the doctors and Sainsburys, when I was passed by a council recycling collection lorry. As it passed I was subjected to jeers and abuse from the crew in the cab. This was definitely not good on top of last night's incident. So, I duly reported it using the on-line system the council has for complaints, ( Read more... )

It's being less than optimal that's true.

HUGS

You are correct to report these incidents and keep right on reporting them. No one should have to put up with this sort of bigoted, prejudiced bullshit!

Oh, and councils HATE having their Equal Opps policies tainted by moronic staffers, so go for the throat on this one!

NIL ILLIGITIMAE CARBORUNDUM! :o)

It might also be worth contacting your local councillor and getting them involved- councils really brick it when councillors get on to them. So sorry you're having to deal with this crap.

Good for you for reporting them. Hopefully the council will throw the book at this crew, and the disciplinary action will remind others in the council that such actions are unacceptable.

Early in transition I had abuse hurled at me by builders working at Durham Jobcentre. I turned around, went back in and reported them then and there to the front desk staff. The next day when I went back, there were no builders, because the contractor had been told to remove their crew from the site as they were banned from it for the way in which they acted. Local government and the civil service can be good at protecting their public image for not tolerating any kind of *phobic abuse.

Good for you for sticking up for yourself.

I'm sorry you had to go through that right after the other.
