I wonder how well I'll handle it tomorrow morning at work... I kept jerking my head down and to the side through parts of Ch. 9.

What am I supposed to do now?

Ahem. I hope to have Part One finished by the end of the year too. WE SHALL COINCIDE!

WOW, that would be amazing. :D
AND, I just finished listening to Ch. 11, finally, so I'll go start a new comment as a proper response...

This chapter was never meant to be read aloud.
Nor the next one, I'm pretty sure. It's meant to be skimmed as fast as possible, or skipped entirely, as the reader prefers. Because, yikes. And it must have been worse for you to read aloud than for me to listen.
A few notes I made at the start:
I find it very interesting how your tone changes for different narration. The start of this chapter, for instance: your voice is softer, but I think more resigned.
Ooooh, I do like how you're handling the Director's voice.

When you started with "This chapter was never meant to be read aloud" I immediately thought oh crap, she hated it. Yeah, I wasn't all that happy with this one; I'm liking Chapter Twelve a bit more (liking is perhaps too strong a word: pleased with it would probably be better).
Yeah, I am not sure what was happening with my voice when I was recording that. It wasn't just the recording; my voice has been all over the place the last couple of weeks. I've been going from speaking very softly to VERY LOUDLY on the drop of a

Oh no, that wasn't what I meant at all!! And I really didn't notice any difference in quality - no, I thought you handled it marvelously well, absolutely breathtaking considering the material (that honestly does feel gratuitous to me now, or at least knowing Ch. 12 is on the way too, and all the times I've been through it before).
Seriously, I think you did the most admirable job possible. I can't imagine anyone handling it with more dignity and keeping collected, maintaining all the voices and even narration, all the way through.

I am so glad you like it. I have eight pages left of Chapter Twelve, out of, I think, sixteen. And then! And then!
LAST CHAPTER! WOO!
Not that that one starts off particularly nicely either. BUT! It ends well!
(PS: THAT ICON! *weeps*)
