Ron/Ginny for 1sentence

Nov 18, 2007 16:44

I've had this claim so for so long, and finally decided just to not do any homework yesterday and stay up until 4:00 am and finish it. Now I just have to finish my Sirius/Regulus claim.

Fandom: Harry Potter
Pairing: Ron/Ginny, but generous mention of Fred/George, Harry/Draco, Ron/Hermione, and Harry/Ginny
Theme set: 1sentence set Epsilon, originally posted here.
Rating: Mostly around PG, but some I'd say could be hard R.
Warning[s]: Incest

****

01 - Motion
Ginny stands in front of an open window in the Burrow during a storm, and as the wind is sucked away from her a noise behind her makes her turn, and in front of the light from the hallway she can see the profile of Ron standing in the doorway; she can’t see his face and turns back to the window, to the rain and the wind, and Ron takes a step towards her as the wind rushes back into the room.

02 - Cool
Ron’s hands find the hem of Ginny’s shirt and he pulls it over her head before kissing her sweetly, running his fingers over the curve of her shoulder and down her arm, cooling her sweating skin.

03 - Young
One day, suddenly, Ginny sees something between Fred and George that mirrors what’s between her and Ron, and it seems so natural that she thinks it must have always been there, but that she’d been too young to understand what it meant.

04 - Last
When Ginny walks down the aisle to Harry she splits her gaze between him and Ron, and Ron gives her the smallest of shrewd smiles, resigned, as if he doesn’t know whether to be happy or devastated.

05 - Wrong
Ginny never thought twice about what she felt for Ron; loving him was an emotion as natural to her as loving herself.

06 - Gentle
Ron traces his fingers over Ginny’s palm as they sit side by side, leaning against the wall of her room, in silence.

07 - One
During the war, Hermione had saved his and Harry’s lives so many times that Ron would have saved her without thinking about it; now that time’s passed, he knows that if he had to chose he’d save Ginny, and guilt still plagues him at the thought.

08 - Thousand
Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Ginny go to Muggle club on New Year’s Eve, and Harry offers to get a drink with Hermione so that when the year 2000 begins, it is Ron that Ginny kisses, once she’s sure that no one else can see.

09 - King
Ginny knows that Ron is actually very good at Quidditch (having seen him play enough times at the Burrow) and she’s never really forgiven Malfoy for that song during his fifth year, regardless of what Harry says about him now.

10 - Learn
Ginny is sitting at the kitchen table in the Burrow, frustrated and attempting to finish her holiday Transfiguration homework when Ron sits down next to her, takes her hand in his, and calmly explains everything Hermione ever told him on the subject.

11 - Blur
And everything is a blur of color around her until she looks back down into his eyes, and he pushes into her again, harder, her name dripping from his tongue in need.

12 - Wait
Ginny used to stay up some nights in the common room and wait for Ron to return, but he was always with Harry and Hermione and he never noticed her; after a while, she stopped waiting.

13 - Change
Ginny slips out of Ron’s room early one morning, and when Fred and George pass her on the stairs Fred says, "You may want to change before you go down to breakfast," and Ginny looks down at Ron’s Chudley Cannons shirt and blushes.

14 - Command
Through her angry tears and somewhere under Harry and most of her family telling her she couldn’t fight, Ginny wondered if, had Ron been there, he would have told her differently, but she never asked him afterwards, afraid to know the answer.

15 - Hold
George comes into the seventh year boys’ dormitory in Gryffindor tower a few days after the final battle and Ron turns to look at him for only a moment before he moves to embrace him, and as George breaks down Ron just holds him, tightly, thinking about Ginny.

16 - Need
The first time Harry fucks her it’s all Ginny can do not to say his name.

17 - Vision
Ron is gone early the next morning and Ginny can only imagine where he went since he told her that he couldn’t go back to Harry and Hermione, and when the rest of the family talks to her as if nothing’s happened, she wonders if she didn’t just imagine him after all.

18 - Attention
The twins saw things between their two youngest siblings that they didn’t think anyone else did: subtle touches, hesitant glances, and small smiles when they thought no one could see.

19 - Soul
Ginny answers his questions hesitantly, saying only "His soul was inside of me, Ron, you can’t possibly understand…" but Ron stops her, his own memories surfacing, not sure that her statement is entirely correct.

20 - Picture
There’s this one family picture that Ron took off the mantelpiece in the living room at the Burrow and keeps in his room, half because he’s afraid someone will see the way his and Ginny’s picture selves are looking at each other, half because he wants to see Ginny look at him like that all of the time.

21 - Fool
Next to Harry, Ginny glances at Ron, his fingers interlaced with Hermione’s, and even though he doesn’t see it, she smiles at him, sadly.

22 - Mad
It doesn’t take Hermione long to realize that Ron’s cheating on her and who he’s cheating on her with; she’s surprised to find that she isn’t mad, but there’s something else there that’s so much more debilitating than anger.

23 - Child
There was a time, right after Ginny finished Hogwarts, that something between them changed, although Ron could never say what it was or why it happened; watching Rose fall asleep on his lap, he thinks it hits him-what she had been hiding-but then he doubts himself because after all, she had never said anything and had never stopped him.

24 - Now
Ginny watches Harry closely, now that he’s befriended Malfoy, and sometimes her feelings for Ron feel more like revenge than anything else.

25 - Shadow
Ron’s never actually told Ginny why he left Harry and Hermione and when she asks a shadow passes over his face that makes Ginny concerned, and a little scared.

26 - Goodbye
It takes a while for the shock to wear off, but once it does Ginny cries like she never remembers having done before, thinking about what she would do if he actually died and realizing that she can’t even fathom the thought.

27 - Hide
"Jesus Christ, Ginny, what do you want me to do!?" Ron yells, frustrated, but Ginny just averts her eyes, still crying.

28 - Fortune
In his peripheral vision Ron sees Fred turn the corner and breaks apart from Ginny immediately, and as George joins his twin he and Ginny just look at them, at a loss of what to do, or say, but Fred just smiles and takes George’s hand, leading him away, laughing in his ear.

29 - Safe
Ginny makes her way to Ron’s room late one night and stands in the doorway until he awakes; when he sees her he doesn’t speak, just moves over and pats the empty bed next to him.

30 - Ghost
The house has been empty for months, and Ginny cannot remember a time when silence clung so thickly to her veins; thus she is surprised when, passing the living room late one night, she sees a flash of red hair, like fire in the moonlight-her only warning of Ron’s presence in the Burrow like another of many ghosts.

31 - Book
Ron gave Harry Twelve Fail-safe Ways to Charm Witches for his birthday, even though he was pretty sure it wouldn’t work on Ginny; he couldn’t imagine doing any of that with her (he’s still surprised it worked with Hermione) and that’s half the reason he gave it to him.

32 - Eye
At Ginny’s funeral Ron surprises himself by thinking first how unfair it is that everyone Harry’s loved he’s lost, but then he thinks that Harry never had Ginny in the first place, and he feels so guilty that he can’t look Harry in the eye for months.

33 - Never
"Would you ever tell Harry?" is a question that remains unspoken, festering on both of their tongues.

34 - Sing
Ginny still brings up the time when, on Harry’s 18th birthday, he and Ron had had a little too much to drink and attempted a rendition of The Ballad of Uric the Oddball, and Ginny looks so blissful as she thinks about it that Ron doesn’t even mind the humiliation so much anymore.

35 - Sudden
Ron grabs Ginny’s arm and pulls her into an abandoned classroom as she walks by with some friends and Ginny smiles at him, feral, as he slams the door and pushes her against it, kissing her harshly.

36 - Stop
There is an imperceptible pause when his eyes flicker to Ginny and she just looks at him with an ironic and heartbreaking smile, before he turns back to Hermione and finishes his vow.

37 - Time
They lay with their heads together in the meadow behind the Burrow during brisk fall nights and watch time pass over them, wishing time would stop.

38 - Wash
Harry, Ron, and Ginny are set the chore of washing dishes after Christmas dinner, and Ron and Ginny spend most of the time trying to hide their inane smiles from Harry whenever their hands touch.

39 - Torn
Ginny came home for the summer after her last year at Hogwarts to an empty Burrow-devoid of anything that had made it her home-and she considered sleeping in Ron’s bed, but thought better of it.

40 - History
Ginny asks Ron if Harry’s ever told him anything about Malfoy, but Ron shrugs off the question saying only, "They hated each other," and she kisses him in spite of his answer.

41 - Power
There are times when Ron is so jealous of Ginny’s magical ability that he can hardly stand to look at her.

42 - Bother
Ron always used to have to play with Ginny when they were kids, since Fred and George were always together, so when Ginny becomes the twins’ responsibility once they’re older, he pretends that he isn’t pissed off about it.

43 - God
"Do you believe in God?" Ginny asks Ron one Christmas Eve night, and when he only turns his head, slowly, and looks at her, she looks away and says, "Me neither."

44 - Wall
There is an invisible wall separating all of them from what they should be-and they all know it-but none of them know how to break the bonds that hold them together in different ways.

45 - Naked
They’ve both taken entire days to count every freckle on their bodies, and when they count each others’ and come up with different numbers they both violently defend their earlier tallies; and after a short but intense argument they aren’t exactly sure why it happened, but are amused by it nonetheless.

46 - Drive
Once Ron gets his license he picks up Ginny and they drive for hours, throughout the night-talking, laughing, letting everything else slip away until it’s just them and the car and the dying lights of cities along the highway.

47 - Harm
Ginny checked her reflection in the well-lit and spacious bathroom, fixing the smudges in her eye makeup, before turning to leave and taking her place in the procession as Hermione’s maid of honor.

48 - Precious
They look at each other across and down the dinner table, and they smile at each other, holding back laughter, until Percy asks Ron what’s so funny and he shakes his head and looks away, still smiling.

49 - Hunger
The first time Ron rasps out her name, voice trembling, pleading, Ginny kisses him more fiercely than she ever has before, trying to express something she’s never been able to say.

50 - Believe
"Do you really expect me to believe that nothing’s going on?" Harry asks Ginny one night, and Ginny only looks back at him defiantly, weighing her options, thinking about Ron and Malfoy, before answering, "No."

****
A/N: While this is in chronological order, it presents more of a general framework that connects the events over large amounts of time, sometimes a year or more.

12 - Wait
Ginny used to stay up some nights in the common room and wait for Ron to return, but he was always with Harry and Hermione and he never noticed her; after a while, she stopped waiting.

05 - Wrong
Ginny never thought twice about what she felt for Ron; loving him was an emotion as natural to her as loving herself.
