I was just thinking I might try getting hold of it via torrent (which I've never done before) but my laptop is having further crises, and may really be on its last legs - waaaah! Still no sign of Sherlock on telly over here - they just taunt people with adverts saying "it'll be back"... Waaaaaaah!
Son downloaded (sshh!) and we watched on the big screen. I don't feel guilty as we've already ordered the BluRay and I'm so looking forward to watching it again.
You need a new laptop as well as a campervan to go round NZ. :-)
I do, I do need all those things... I keep wondering if I can configure some small, travel-friendly version of a new laptop that's just as easy to use for work, but I don't think the technology's quite there yet... :(
I wouldn't feel guilty either, I have every intention of owning at least the dvd as well... *g*
I'm rewatching the episode, and on my second rewatch. I found the first time I watched it really tense and anxious, so furiously fast-paced that I couldn't really handle it. On second time, it's getting better, and I am able to appreciate some of the very clever nuances of the show. SO good.
That's what I'm looking forward to when we get the BluRay, seeing it again and being able to savour some of the things that escaped me the first time round because the pace was so fast and furious at times. I wonder if I'll still shiver when I realise just where a drugged John has been left though... that was chilling as hell!
I loved it! Just three a season really isn't enough and it'll be over all too quickly. I hear there'll be a fourth season though.
I knew Mary Morstan was played by Freeman's partner, but did you know that Sherlock's parents were Cumberbatch's real ones? :-)
I'm off to see them both (well, one in his own body, anyway) in Smaug again tomorrow, this time in 3D with a friend.
As for tumblr, I don't go there, but you're not the only person I know to complain of those things. BTW an LJ friend's posts about otters that look like Benedict Cumberbatch is now famous, pics from it even appearing on Graham Norton.
Oh the Otters! Graham Norton followed this up with Martin Freeman and the hedgehogs... fandom, crazy as hell.:-)
I'd love more as well, but as you say a 4th season is on the books. I was interested in a reply MF made to the question would he do Dr Who if offered. He said no and that he wasn't being disingenuous, but the work load was 9/12 full on and you couldn't do anything else and he wouldn't want that. I guess that's what both MF and BC like about Sherlock, as well as Moffat and Gattis. It's hard, enjoyable work but allows everyone to go off and do other things plus it keeps everyone keen and razor sharp!
I only recently found out the Sherlock's parents were BC's own! Delightful touch. :-) And enjoy seeing the Hobbit agian, I've seen in twice now, both times in 3D and enjoyed it greatly. Best bit is still Bilbo and Smaug to my mind.
As to tumblr, I'm too old for it I think and I hate with a passion being lectured and moralised at...
I loved that too, and how Bilbo just gave up and sat down during one of the coin avalanches. There should have been more Bilbo altogether, though I can't fault the rest.
I hear that tumblr is incredibly sanctimonious, full of people telling others how they think. I can't be bothered looking at it, apart from my ottery-Cumberbatch friend's stuff.
Tumblr is a bit addictive if you want photos, humorous manipulations and often the latest news BUT it is incredibly sanctimonious and totally not a place to discuss.
Finally got to watch The Empty Hearse last night - how fab was that?! Absolutely loved it, and I've got the next two eps to look forward to today - yeay! I already want to watch it again, too... *g* Definitely worth the wait, loved the way they did it all, did love Mary (who I thought would probably be fine, since you liked her, but I actually very much liked too - she is very down to earth without being boring, and just right for Watson. Loved the 'tache (not hers, obviously... *g*) Ooh, roll on time-when-we-get-to-watch-them! *g*
