First order of business... pick a new word to refer to Jewish people as. I don't know if this is true or not, but I feel that it's inaccurate to call they/you/ya'll? "Hebrews"... There was also another word, I think, but I don't remember it.
Oh, yeah, Israelites. Hmm, that's even less accurate. And the search begins...

Yeah, "Hebrews" is a really antiquated term. It's really only used to refer to Jews in the Tanach. "Israelites" is kind of antiquated, too. Plus it creates an automatic connection between Judaism and Israel, and there are a fair number of Jews today that don't feel any connection with Israel.
I actually want to start using the word "Jew" instead of always saying "Jewish people" or searching for another word. You know, start using the word in a positive way to shake off that negative connotation its acquired over the years.
