Oh, gosh, that's so sweet! I kind of get what you're talking about. When I was in middle school, I was rather depressed, but (Alright, I'm a little embarrased to admit it) The Nanny, which was playing on Lifetime then, always made me a little more cheerful and something to look foward to.
I wish I had gotten my obsession with TT a little earlier. I remember seeing the promos, and I had gotten really excited for it, and watched the episode, but didn't get attached to the series until season 4! I did try to watch an episode everytime I could, though.
(Fun Fact: I only knew a bit of the comic book world, so in the promos, I only recognized Robin- I thought the other characters were made up just for the show!)
I think we all have something like TT or The Nanny that helps us through hard times. It can seem silly or insignificant to other people, but to us, it's the whole world. Thank goodness for TT, because 9th and 10th grade would have been even more unbearable without it.
I didn't start watching new episodes when they were on until season 4, either. I think I started getting really into it at some point in season 3, but the first episode I remember planning to watch ahead of time was Birthmark. I wish I'd gotten obsessed with it sooner, too!
(I didn't know anything about the comic when I started watching it, either. I was shocked when I discovered how many of the characters and episodes were taken from the comic!)
I fully support the rewatching of old episodes! I spent a lonnnnng time taping all the episodes to VHS. I've got all the DVDs now, but I've still got my billions of tapes stacked in a corner of my bedroom.
