A low obligation meme

Recently there have been a spate of "Reply to this post and I'll tell you 3 things I love about you, then post in your lj" posts, which I haven't replied to since neither part of it appeals to me (consumed as I am with hate and bile. Yes, because everyone can have their own questions and answers in one place, instead of the interesting comments being spread across half-a-dozen or so journals.

I wasn't objecting I was abstaining, it's different :) I actually think the original meme is rather sweet.

But yes, obviously, for myself at least I like my meme better.

I prefer the style of the comments to those in the ones objected to.

These are funny and meta, whereas I find those in the oppossed to format often mundane or oddly self-congratulatory. Like so: "Wow, I bet you didn't know that I have TOTALLY THE SAME star sign/favorite Hobbit as Brad Pitt/the OP!!! LOLZ!!"

Which implies that I like posts where the OP/f-list tone is complimentary and meta, but not necessarily humourless.
