I'm wondering if Spar is meant to be read metaphorically - when we find ourselves in bad situations that we can't control but become dependent on. when we get the chance to get away do we choose to? I found the coclusion very rushed.

If it's just a metaphor I would have preferred she choose one that was less...rape-y.
