No particular challenge - "The Carousel"

This is actually for a schmoop_bingo prompt, specifically "Amusement Park" -- I think this qualifies.

Aww. <3

This is a very heartbreaking fic for someone who accepts the ending of the finale. But we all know that the Bristow-Vaughn family takes a vacation on the Spy(grand)'rents private island where the kids play with Grandpa Jack and learn the fine art of knife-throwing from Grandmama Irina.

I love that you included that bit that totally happened in the future, wherein Jack brought Isabelle to the carousel, as that totally happened. MONGOLIA WHAT DO YOU MEAN SOMETHING HAPPENED IN MONGOLIA?

Jack is self-aware enough to know that he often makes tactical justifications for emotional needs

Aw, this is SO Jack. I love the way you've got him perfectly in this - only Jack would think about everything in terms of logic and tactics whilst being perfectly aware that he's just rationalising stuff that he feels. Love it.

Thank you so much! I do think Jack's aware of that tendency in himself, though I also think he sometimes recognizes it too late.

Aww. Also, I love the concept that Jack goes to the carousel to speak personal truths.

Aw, so sweet.

Also - from what little we know of Isabelle, I suspect she would dislike being held in place just like her mother. But other than that, I see no reason why Jack's dream would not be fully realized.

Thanks muchly! Jack of course has not yet met Isabelle, so he has yet to discover the latest super-spy.
