Chapter 13: Cross-Check

She briefly remembered falling off her bike as a child, seven years old and bawling, both knees skinned; slicing her finger with a knife while helping her mother in the kitchen and being demoted to stirring duty, not even allowed near the stove; foolishly falling asleep on the beach during her one and only spring break ( Read more... )

Thank you! I'm so happy you liked it.

That's House for you--all tough and teasing on the outside, but underneath he really cares... or at least I like to think he does. :) Thanks again!

God. I think I love you. I remember reading the first chapters of this a while back, and now I found my way over here and re-read the entire thing plus all the chapters I hadn't read yet, and... I think I love you.

This one definitely goes down as one of my all-time favorites.

Haha. That's probably just the temporary insanity that comes from staring at the computer screen too long talking(because it must've taken forever to re-read everything!). Hopefully it's worn off by now. :)

Thanks so much! I'm thrilled you liked this!

*wakes up after having slept for close to 12 hours - yes, I obviously was exhausted last night - and...*

Nope. I still love you. No temporary insanity in sight.

This is another great fic.
I can't tell you how much I envie your writing skills. You have such a great style and a wonderful choice of words. And I can only wish that maybe one day, my stories will sound only close to what you're doing here. It all fits.

Will read the last one now, but hopefully not for long, because I really need more of your writing.

My, you've been busy! I can't believe you've read through all of these!
Thanks so much for all your kind words, but really I can't take all the credit. House and Cuddy just work together. And without a thesaurus, I'd be completely lost. :)

Well *blushes* I've had enough time to read them, since I've been stuck at home with the flu. But your fics really made the time so much better. :) (Besides, I've been awake since 6 am today.)

And I'm still going to comment on Time in Technicolor, which I finished some time this afternoon, but I just can't find the right words yet.

"but really I can't take all the credit. House and Cuddy just work together."
Okay, that is true, but still, you deserve about 90% of the credit. Or 95%. Or more. :)

Even with a thesaurus, my fics would *still* look like a bunch of paratactic, incoherent sentences completely void of any meaning, compared to yours.

Ah, that would explain it. (I think you commented at the end of WPKP that it made you happy at like 7 in the morning, and I remember wondering if there was anything that would make me happy that early on a weekend... ;) Though this probably would have made more sense if I had replied to it there--sorry.)
I hope you feel better soon!

I very much doubt that. Especially since I totally had to look up "paratactic." What an awesome word! (And it's probably very sad how much you made my day with that.)

God, I'll say. What is it going to do next--show it letter-by-letter next? Though now it makes it look like I'm talking to myself. Awesome.

Well, he might be proud, but he sure as hell wouldn't show it--unless you count in some kind of snarky comment.

Maybe yellow, with green writing?
Oh, yes. Awesome colors. With a motto and motive like we have, eye-catching is definitely the way to go.

If by great you mean all in italics or some other kind of weird formatting, then absolutely. :)

Okay, I should probably go. I'm cooking dinner and dividing my time between the computer and the stove is probably not the brightest idea I've had all day. But it's been a blast! I'll definitely have to catch you for some more "philosophizing" some time. :D

Oh, and I hope you feel better!

I don't think LJ would send you a message.
Haha, no, it wouldn't have. Thanks. ^^

Oh but snarky comments are all the better. At least then we'll know he's serious about it. ;)

Yup, absolutely. :D I really think I'll make one like that one day soon. I know cafepress.com has a site where you can create your own shirts. And it's not that expensive. I just have yet to find out if those can be shipped to Germany, too.

Ha ha. :P Those are just slips of the pen (finger?).

Alright. Too bad :( but I also should be going. It's almost 2 in the morning here. But I think it's save to say that we're on the same page (not literally, you know) when it comes to writing and creativity. So we really have to do more philisophising (without the quotation marks) soon. I just hope we'll find a place to do it. :)

Thank you, I really do. I'm going to stay home tomorrow (today) again, but on Tuesday, I'm going to be back in school (yay...).

So have a nice day, and enjoy your dinner! :)

It's pathetic how happy re-reading this conversation made me. ;)

I just wanted to let you know that I'll be reading all your fics again soon, and then putting them onto my soon to be posted fanfic rec list. And you've got no choice whatsoever. :P

I can only see this in my email right now, where they don't really tell you what the original post was, and I could remember HAVING this conversation, but it still took me a second to figure out exactly what it was. ;) I love re-reading random conversations. Especially when they're as amusing as this one.

I don't have a choice? But....

Hey, I just read your A/R fic and decided to come read your House fics, too! I LOVED this story! I've just dipped a toe into Huddy, but I've found that this 'ship requires a delicate balance. You pull it off beautifully. :D

Wow, you did quite a bit of reading then. ;) And Huddy does have a kind of odd balance. It took a bit of doing to switch over from the snark to A/R.
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you liked this!

Hey, I also read some of your other Huddy fics, which are just FRAKKING incredible. Are you still into House? I've started watching it in earnest. I'm at the beginning of Season 3 now (just bought the DVDs).

Aww, thank you! Yep, I still LOVE House---BSG has just commandeered most of my flailing ability for the moment (and my fic brain). You've got some good stuff in store for you with Season 3. The first few episodes have some of my favorite scenes, and there are some really good Huddy moments to look forward to later.
