Yeah, I have not been on in a while. Grad school. Also, I'm done with that at the end of this semester. I'm withdrawing from the program with a masters instead of a doctorate. This is...not the program for me. And that's all I'll say on this post about it ( Read more... )

*hugs* It's really not so bad. Like I said, more annoying than anything else, but a great excuse for a themed costume!

And, I should also start showing up around the interwebs more as a result, so that is a positive thing!

Still. It's one of those "what the fuck?!" sort of things. (Besides, think about it. Bell's Palsy? *shudder*)

Positive indeed! I confess I had been wondering if grad school had eaten you.

Yeah I guess it is sorta wtf. It sounds scary when the doctor says "nerve damage, and could be anything that caused it" (ten bucks it's the quasi-cold thing I've had), and it was scary to hear that it could be permanent, but yeah. Oh, and I'm sure Bell is happy to know he shares a name with the disease. ;)

Actually funny story on the name, I thought the doctor said "balls' palsy", and there I was going, "man, seriously, you just asked me if I was pregnant, don't think that would be possible if I had testes". Or far less likely.

A lot of job hunting and stuff has been going on, and I must confess I've been slacking off to play Rift and stuff. That all takes up time. That and I'm TAing the intro ling course again. Preparing for two lectures on fridays, and every other week grading 100 homeworks is time-consuming.

*HUGS*

My uncle's recently been diagnosed with Bell's palsy as well.

I'm praying for you.

Ouch! Well get better soon and in full control of your face, even if you can go as Spock for Halloween! Better going there with everything working rather than not! *HUG*

As for the Doctor, he'll come. *mysterious voice* one day. ;)

Thanks!

I don't know if I'll need that Doctor for halloween, but I'll settle for a Doctor Leonard McCoy for sure!
