heh, just got a call from Barclays fraud department regarding a "suspicious" transaction on my debit card..

Last night I used paypal for an e-bay purchase. When making the transaction I generously donated £1 to their sponsored charity (meh, I'd had some wine)... This apparently set alarm bells ringing at Barclays as, to quote the guy, "...you ( Read more... )

had something similar awhile ago. Then I had a conversation about how teachers ordering books to be delivered to a school shouldn't be regarded as potentially fraudulent. It was very frustrating trying to explain this to somebody who sounded like they have never seen, let alone read, a book.

They're not only calling you tight and heartless, they're saying credit card thieves are more likely to give money to charity than you are :D
