To answer my own questions:

What I think of as my homepage is hosted on pink, which is run by shevek (this is also where my email account lives). This was back in the day before LJ and so on, and it was very useful at the time.

I don't really use my homepage for anything anymore. Now not really sure what to do with it.

Pretty much everything has been outsourced now.

Edit: what I think of as "my homepage" is http://ali.anarres.org/

I assume the second 'completely agree' should be 'completely disagree'?

It is hosted by evilmagic.org/cryosphere.net/ellyll.net, who also provide hosting for a few sites I have and for my MUD.

I don't much use it for anything. It just is a clearing-house for links to me on various social networking sites.

10 years ago I would hang photos off it but they end up at flickr/livejournal these days...

Sod. Yes, it should be. Unfortunately LJ doesn't allow you to edit polls (reasonably, otherwise I guess you could change the answers to make it looks like someone said something they didn't).

Mythic Beasts = my ISP. I pay them money to give me web hosting. I used Black Cat Networks till they ended and sold their hosting stuff to Mythic Beasts.

I use it to maintain a public presence on the internet, not linked with anyone else's service. It could be something much more useful than it presently is, (in terms of presenting a public, professional profile of myself to the education law world, where few people are good at online stuff) if I spent some time maintaining it. my homepage.

*Who provides you with the hosting of your homepage? For what reasons do they provide it?

I do myself. because i can

*What do you use your homepage for?

links to to other things on the interwebnets.

* Are there things that you used to use your homepage for that have now been replaced by accounts on other sites?

flickr replaced the photos although the ones from back then are still there.
