CHINA, BUSH MANGLES WORDS, NEW BUDGET IS INSANE, AND GORE IN '04!

Apr 11, 2001 10:04

Good Day fine fellow citizens of America, its been quite a while so I have a lot to cover! Well, as you all know the U.S. and China have been having what one could call a stalemate regarding a crashed U.S. spy plan and its crew. I have heard news today that the crew is being sent home finally, apparently they, the Chinese, grew tired of G.W.'s " ( Read more... )

A Bush in the China Store - bv anonymous April 27 2001, 11:28:12 UTC
China is turning out to be Bush's best friend. As usual, when a country experiences international tensions it backs the leader. Unfortunately the recent events with China are no different... and Bush is taking full advantage of it. One might even say he's creating it. In his bid for the country to unite, Bush is creating the new Cold War. He recently, and foolishly, pledged arms to Taiwan. The first thing wrong with that: Taiwan is part of China. It's a civil war. "An attack on national missle defense" - by Gwynne Dyer in the Star Ledger anonymous May 9 2001, 14:51:27 UTC
"As Sen. Josepgh Biden, senior Democratic memeber of the Senates' Foreign Relations Committee put it: 'The least likely threat to us is the missile threat. The most likely threats against us are truck bombs, ships, suitcases carrying nuclear weapons. The truck bomb is cheaper, more accurate, has no return address and is therefore harder to deter.'
All true. But from the Bush administration's standpoint, and anti-truck-bomb defense gives you no excuse to pour between $400 billion and $1 trillion into the hands of your friends and contributors in the high-tech defense industries."
