[ sup guys you're at school. most of you have probably never been to school or enjoyed the cliche school life so here it is in all it's glory. which position do you take in the classroom? class rep? troublemaker? rule enforcer? emo kid? the popular handsome one? the shy quiet girl with her nose in her book? ]

Late again would be the last thing he needed. Bad enough that he'd slipped -- or felt he slipped, in any case -- in the last batch of exams; the absolute last thing Kain needed was to manage to look even worse in front of teacher and classmates.

At least in his own mind, mulish overachiever that he was.

Clunk down at his desk, haul out review notes along with everything else, not quite~ hide the black look at the students that just seemed to skate through the work ... just another day --

If someone else in his class noticed the look, he was doing a very good job of ignoring it. It took some time before they had a brief break between classes but the ever cheerful brunette couldn't help but smile cheerfully at the blonde sitting near him. Such a hard worker... It reminded him of a certain other over achieving student he knew.

"So what did you think of that last test?" because Suzaku himself didn't really care for it. Couldn't teachers make tests just a little more manageable? Then maybe they wouldn't have to fail everyone (laugh).

Not that Lelouch would let him slack off on his studies, but it was a nice thought, wasn't it?

Hm? Strange to be prodded in class by someone that wasn't Cecil -- or Rosa, when she was present. Most people left him alone when he was being this focused on his work.

But there was no reason not to be polite. He was raised better than to ignore someone speaking to him; shifting in his seat, he glanced over at the brunette.

"I thought that the material covered was fair enough, but could stand with better results. You?"

[that dream you had last night was pretty crazy, wasn't it? Despite your best attempts to try and remember what happened the details drift away faster than you can recall them. Towards lunch, the dream is almost completely forgotten.

Guess it really was just a normal dream after all! ]

Annoying, is what it was.

Dreams were dreams, but Kain hated forgetting things once he knew they were there -- even if it was just a dream. He hated the feeling that something important was going to slip away and hated even more the hollow sensation that something was missing ...

It was an irrational kind of feeling, really, but he just couldn't shake it. Which made it all the more annoying.

It was also a very irritable-looking Kain who stowed his textbooks in his locker. The dream was likely to plague him until Cecil dragged him away for lunch.

The only real thing she could remember from the dream was the fact that she had been a wolf. It was weird, really, because of how absolutely real it felt.

There is no way it could be, though, she thinks as she opens her bento, having done well enough to not snack or nibble on anything in it during the morning classes. The little bag of snacks that littered the inside of her desk, however, was a different story. But now that it was lunch time there was no worries of getting in trouble or being caught by the teacher.

But still...

For the vivid image of a red marked white wolf to stick out so vaguely in her mind like that from a dream alone it had to mean something, right? Tapping her chopsticks against her lips she stretches with a yawn, stabbing them into one of the piggy riceballs. The only explanation? Waka and his weird, silly fetishes of plopping doggy ears on her whenever he had the chance (and proceeding to fawn and cling after the deed was done).

"Mm." That has to be it.

Or she decides as she continues to attack that poor

[it's just the same old same old. Doesn't ☳☷☱ ever change? And... And shouldn't the municipal get around to fixing up those buildings (did they always look so old and faded?) and a few of the alleyways that you take on your way to school or the mall or anywhere seem to be full of more shadows than you remember it being]

[suddenly, the warm town of ☳☷☱ doesn't feel quite so warm or right. But it's just your mind playing tricks on you, right?]

[Right?]

[this is it; this dream world is on it's last legs;

The buildings, once new and pristine and familiar, weather and wear away before your very eyes. The shadows that seemed too dark the day before widen slowly, revealing the patchwork seams between the buildings. It appears that the town was forgetting it's original appearance and, like a dream, it is slowly falling apart and disappearing as the players start waking properly.

Those who can fight back the despair and sudden longing for home might notice familiar black dots hiding within the nothingness- but the crushing weight of one's emotions might just be enough of a distraction already]

[the seams in this patchwork world grow wider with each passing hour. Try as you might, it seems as if all your family and friends are nowhere to be found. Your house is empty and decrepit, as if it hasn't been lived in for years and a look around revealed that - between buildings that appear to be from different eras all together - all the other houses were in the same state.

Regardless of whether you choose to run or stay the end result is the same.

The world vanishes in a flash of white and the overwhelming sense of homesickness...]
