Fayt was so disappointed when he reached the source of all the great smells wafting through Mac Anu and found... absolutely nothing. He knew that they had to work for their meals, but this just seemed unfair! Why would anyone ever try to bait people into... into... into completing an event for food? That just seemed tacky (not to mention just a little bit lame).

Well, keywords were keywords - and Fayt found himself wondering again if his reaction to The World was the right one or not - so without further ado-!

"H-Hey! Get back here!!!"

Without further ado, let the chase begin! Watch as the young man attempts to chase down and kick the Gold Bird (because gamer logic told him so) only to be stopped by monster fights. Help a beginner player or sit back and laugh at his fail?

"Man, how did it come down to this?"

We'll take Option B for $500, Alex! Curiosity had gotten the better of this brandier and the smells had made him a good deal hungrier than he'd admit, not having a decent meal since arriving. The monsters weren't edible, fires were difficult to make before NPCs would get mad and put it out, and Albel was far too proud and far too dubious of the flimsy money system to buy anything very filling from the shops or ask anyone for anything.

Well, he could ask someone something, for a change. Upon warping in to the area words, he was greeted with quite the scene that startled some honest-- if derisive-- laughter from him, soft-toned as though dusty from years of disuse but audible. His arms crossed and he settled into a comfortable stance, leaning a bit on one leg as though leaning against an invisible tree. Oh yeah, he was lapping this up and storing it away in his memory.

"And just what are you doing, maggot?"

"Ah-!"

After all this time, he'd only managed to kick the bird once. This thing was fast when it wanted to be! And his preferred sport had always been basketball, not soccer...

But he heard the sound of someone's laughter and was about to ask them to lend a hand instead when he noticed who the person was. Did Albel the Wicked, former captain of the Black Brigade just laugh? Then again, considering he probably looked like a fool chasing this little fat bird around, Fayt was pretty sure even Cliff would be laughing at him.

"I'm-" pant "trying to kick that bird!" here, a point towards the culprit, just happily waddling around a few yards away from where the Edge Punisher was doubled over.

"... Asking you to help would be an exercise in futility, wouldn't it?"

And suddenly, something breezes past-- though it's hard to tell exactly what or who it might be, they're moving so fast. In fact, it seems as if it could have been a gust of wind that errantly blew the rotund little bird over for a few seconds as whatever had knocked it over breezed behind some of the field debris and out of sight.

But rather than ponder over who or what knocked it over, perhaps it would be more productive to find out if the hit had counted or not?

I mean, there was no one around who could have done it, right? Just you two guys and... a rather nondescript cleric waaay over there. Maybe it's an NPC, whatever.

[[ooc: TELL ME IF THIS ISN'T OKAY GUYS ahahaha <3]]
