"Hello. Is this another event?" Ken asked as he walked up to the kiosk. Naturally, he wasn't familiar with Easter, being Japanese; the sudden switch to pastels in the city's decor was particularly jarring. Much too cheery, considering his current mood. He hoped this event would lend itself to solo questing a little more than the last one.
"Yep. It's our Easter event." She said that with a huge smile plastered on her face though the sincerity of it was obviously a bit iffy. "Compared to the last big theme, this one is pretty simple to complete. Need the list of rules or what?"
"Easter? Is that a Western holiday?" he asked. She seemed... happier than he remembered. Whether she was faking this time, the last time, or he was seeing things differently because of how he felt, he couldn't quite discern. "Er, if it's not too much trouble, please."
She gave a shrug. "I don't know. I don't even know what you mean by Western."
She pushed forward a card Ken could slide into his relic. "You can do this by yourself or with a group. Just kill monsters and they drop eggs. Get all six egg designs and you win. Simple enough, yeah?"
The change in scenery and monster drops didn't go unnoticed. It hadn't affected Yuri's progress in any significant way though, which was why he'd gone on business as usual, tucking the couple of eggs he'd found along the way into his inventory. However, a combination of old habits and familiar equips resulted in a slight impediment in his leveling. One that refused to be unequipped, at that.
Which was why now Yuri could be seen in town heading straight for the kiosk, hours before his usual time of return, pushing a very stubborn and very floppy ear out of his vision every few steps.
"Hey. Mind explaining?" he prompted with a finger pointing at the rather obvious object in question.
Kris sighed out lout. Kids these days were still rude. Did their mom's raise them in a barn or something? She had to plaster on a fake smile to keep going.
"Welcome to our Easter Event where you can take part in a quest to earn prizes."
Annoying the GMs, who apparently had a lot of rule in what went on in this place from what he'd gathered, was not a very smart idea and Yuri knew it. That didn't mean, however, that he was going to prostrate himself in order to get some answers.
"Thanks for the heads up, but I was more concerned about this." Again, he flicked at the floppy bunny ear in his vision. "This thing seems to think itself a permanent addition to my body."
"That was my design! It looks pretty cute, doesn't it?" The more passive torture, the better. Unless Yuri ended up being okay with having them but that was fine anyways. Having her work appreciated would be something particularly new to be honest.
Lotto had been carrying some weird little purple and blue egg around for a few hours now since he'd last been grinding, trying to figure out what it did - so the appearance of a GM was (surprisingly) something of a relief.
He held the egg up to the GM, idly wondering if there was some new quest available. "Hey. What does this thing do?"
"So monsters just... drop them? We don't have to fight specific monsters or anything?" Well, that was easy. Wait. "We don't have to make teams, do we?" Please, no more teams. Ever.
Kris nodded on the first question. That was almost a given and coding for special monsters took up way too much of her time. "Do it however you want to but it'd probably go faster with teams."
She stepped up to the kiosk quietly, looking about for signs of people she knew. Unlike the others, she wore no headband nor had collected any eggs before she had come here. "Hello," Nunnally greeted the GM sitting there. "May I get the quest information, please?"
"Quest information?" Being off in her own world, it took her a few moments to register what the girl actually wanted. "Oh, right! This one is pretty easy compared to the last one. Kill monsters, collect eggs. Get all six different kinds and you win. Be sure to bring them all back here."
She blinked at the quest details, surprised at how easy it seemed, compared to the last one she had participated in. Nunnally nodded. "I will. Thank you very much," she murmured, giving a bow and then turned, heading towards the chaos gate.
