I wasn't able to go gluten-free completely because I had quite a lot of gluten-containing things stocked up, but I was already eating gluten-free in the morning because I noticed that my blood sugar readings for the day were better if I didn't have carbs in the morning. I decided to go gluten-free at night, too, so that I only ate anything with gluten in it at lunchtime.
My blood sugars dropped like a rock and my a1c readings (that's the three-month one) dropped low enough that my endocrinologist gave me the okay to try cutting one of my meds!
Next step, cut gluten at lunch back to once or twice a week . . .
And I've been giving the link to the blog posts to a lot of people . . . ;)

I am delighted for you! I hope this starts a ripple of lovely health improvements for you!
Welcome to the battle against gluten. It can be tricky outside the home, but the rewards are legion.
I'm sorry that you miss caffeine! Have you tried Rhodiola rosea? It's an eye-opener!
