Thanks so much to everyone who sent me a response to this. I now have to read and compile everyone's answers, but I thought you might want to know why you were answering these questions. The topic in my Nature of Science class this week is the difference between science and pseudoscience. The purpose of the survey is to see not only what people consider to be science, but more importantly, why they think so. Seeing how the general public's opinion on the definition of science stacks up to the accepted professional definitions, helps us understand what we need to focus on with our students. I must say, you are an exceptionally scientifically literate crowd ;-) Thanks again.
