or if the folios you're making are destined for the OT, particularly Numbers, slaughter a fatted calf, burn two measures of oil-soaked grain, eat a goat and live in isolation from the rest of the week. Then burn your clothes and jump in a well. After that you may continue with removing the skin...

Read the book although I don't own it(!) I also forget the title.
Don't you mean circumference rather than diameter?

Yep, I mean circumference, although I suppose they must have known the diameter as well. I remember thinking that something was slightly wrong with that while I was writing, but my brain must have been switched off... well spotted!

So which book was it? And don't forget the alien (again I forget which) could have been boasting in the normal manner of boasts (i.e. lying).

He could have been, but from the nature of the book and it's general tone, I didn't get that impression. The book is the novelisation of Four to Doomsday, by Terrance Dicks.
