Alfbie's Guide to WoW!

Mar 17, 2007 19:04

I've been talking a lot about World of Warcraft lately. I'm sure most of you on the flist don't know what the hell I'm talking about, save for the fact that it's some sort of on line computer game.

So, today I have decided to show you all my crappy Guide to WoW! Careful, this post is ( image heavy )

Stormwind is a great city. I'd like to be based there, but I have to level up in outland now. Still, I'm 69, so just one more level and then I can go back to SW and start doing some serious time in the BGs, hurrah!!! =P

Anyway, not a bad guide to show non-players.

thanks for your comments, anonymous person :) I can't wait to get to Outland. It'll probably take me months and months and months before I'm finally a high enough level to be able to, though, heheh. Husband is level 55, though, so soon I shall be able to watch him go through the dark portal.

Hey, I think you underestimate yourself just a little here. It's actually a very well-written and fascinating guide to World of Warcraft, and I now know so much more about that MMORPG than I did a few minutes ago (like what a MMORPG is). Keep in mind that I had never had any exposure to World of Warcraft before, so I'd say that you did pretty well. With a little more editing (to fit a company's standards, not the grammatical type) you could possibly consider writing such guides for a living, or for the fun of it.

Love the pictures. Sounds very fascinating. I doubt that my laptop is capable of handling it though, considering that it heats up like mad while playing Sim City 4, so meh.

WoW does suck up a lot of computer resources; it's very graphic-heavy. *nod-nod*

Yeesshhh, it's addicting! It's a bit different from Warcraft I-III, though.

Let me know if you decide to try it out!

Thanks so much! I'd heard a bit about WoW from other players, but this is the first concise explanation of exactly what the game is all about that I understood. Really appreciate you taking the time to do this.

You mean WoW is even wankier than a certain fandom we frequent? o.O No way!

I'm glad you understood it; I've never been overly good at explaining things to people, so this is cool :)

Indeed, WoW is full of wank! Most of it happens in-game, which is why not a lot of people hear about it outside of the game. Every class will whine about how every other class is better than their class, it is the norm for the Horde to wank aboout the Alliance and vice versa, and players will even go as far as bitching about the developers/programmers/creators of the game. And, of course, because there are so many players online at once, they will wank about each other. Most of the time it's quite amusing :) It stems from people taking the game waaaaaay too seriously. I mean, come on people, it's just a freakin' game! Meh.

No wonder you're able to cope with the wank in IY so graciously! Yep, it's just a comic strip, but so many people seem to lose sight of that.

Go, Barian!

If I were a fan of MMORPGs, I would definitely play and hang around with you. XD

YOU DOWNLOADED THE SOOOOONNNNGGGGG *LOVES ON YOU*

It's very very rare that I come across a song that I never get tired of (Paul Simon's 'You Can Call Me Al' is a another one), like once every two years or so, but this one makes me cry when I watch the PV. *_____*

It's okay if you don't like it especially much, but thanks for downloading it! ♥

oh no, I really like the song :) I've just noticed a number of people on the flist listening to it, so I felt compelled to comment about it :P
