Happy Loyalty Day!

Several of my friends have posted links to the proclamation issued by our country's President which henceforth declares May 1st "Loyalty
Day"
.

I don't know about you, but I like the idea.

From this year forth, I shall proudly celebrate Loyalty Day.

Nice. I once offered a reqritten version of the pledge of Allegiance:
I pledge allegiance to the Republic
Of the United States of America,
And to the freedoms for which she stands.
I vow to fight those without and within
Who seek to curtail her freedom and her general welfare,
And to work for liberty and justice for all.

Which I think proves that "family values" are not necessarily what those who talk most about them think they are.

Another question (I did send an email but maybe it got lost): is it easy for you to receive packages? I mean, do they just leave them, or do they make you go get them? I'm buying a necklace from elisem (

)>. We'll be visiting the US in late June, will probably be in Philly 6/29-7/1, and I'd rather have her ship it somewhere in the US because so I don't have to pay exorbitant amounts ( ... )

Also: is it just me, or does GWB talking about "our country's grand story of courage and simple dream of dignity" seem like an oxymoron to you too?
