In which Amy posts a preview for a new layout

Well, I've decided, since I appear to be the only person left who doesn't do it this way, to teach myself stylesheets. It's been a little difficult, but I think I'm doing OK. I'm even thinking about redoing some of my smaller layouts in this style. Anyway, I have a preview of the first layout I've ever done in using this method. What do you think?Read more... )

Stylesheets are super-handy. Combine with php includes and you basically don't have to edit individual pages in order to change entire layouts.

I don't see anything "off" about this particular one... just keep developing the style and I'm sure it will look complete.

Thank you. It's going to be an interesting learning process, but hopefully at the end of the day, I will be able to create better layouts. ^^

What happened to Liquid Diamonds? I always went there when I needed to reference an artbook image. *sadface*

To not be completely obnoxiously "me me me," I like the new design. ^_^ I've been working on learning stylesheets myself for a new project.

Well, the problem with Liquid Diamonds is that a lot of the images have developed some really bad pixelation, probably when I tried to compress their size before I knew what I was doing. If I brought back the site, which I still might do, I would need to rescan at least a few of the worst images (I know redoing the whole thing would be out of the question), and I can't get my scanner to scan in the quality I like. Also it needs a new layout because the old one is just sad.

Style sheets can do a lot, but they are tricky. Still, I didn't learn HTML in a day either, so we'll see what I can do with this new style. Also, thanks for the comment on the layout. =)
