fpb seems to believe that all Obama supporters are either idiots or deluded. They also "leave a nasty taste in the mouth". He seems to have the belief that all of Obama's current supporters are going to come to their senses during the next four years once he ruins the country.

Obama would have to be pretty extraordinary to do worse than the Bush Administration did. I'm not 100% confident Obama, but I do think he can't possibly be worse than Bush. I am, however, very excited that the rest of the world is excited for us and looking forward to working with the U.S. again. (See? Progress already)

Not being American, most of my election knowledge comes from the internet and watching Jim Lehrer's News Hour.

I agree that Obama can't possibly be worse for the country than Bush or McCain. It's doubtful he'll live up to the high expectations everyone has of him - times are tough and he's been put on such a high pedestal. But the changes he makes are bound to be a great improvement and change the US for the better. As an Australian, I'm happy for everyone in the US and the excitement and hope was really touching (we Aussies can be fairly apathetic about politics and elections as we have compulsary voting and are a touch more cynical about our politicians). Over here most everyone was backing Obama (a news poll showed a whopping 93% of people would have voted for Obama were we in the US) and our politicians have come out in support of the new administration.

That's why I dislike people like fpb, he's such a bigotted, cynical bastard that he doesn't acknowledge when he's wrong or beng hypocritical. During the election he backed McCain ( ... )
