I am still going through audio books with quite a good speed and it still make me very very happy. I also find that I remember the books I have listened to much better than the books I have actually read (most likely because I am very inpatient and when I read a paper book I always skip things, and you can’t do this with audiobooks ( Read more... )

:( Crossing my fingers for you

@ books

I loved Redshirts a lot. Usually I'm also more into character-driven books, but especially with those codas Scalzi managed to create something really fantastic, plus I'm amazed that I took an old idea and made something shiny and new with it.

"Halfhead" sounds awesome and exactly like my cup of tea. *puts it on the looong tbr-list

I really liked Redshirts too, it was just me. :D I enjoyed it and it was fun, but didn't catch my emotions so much (just me).

Exactly that happened to me with "The fault in our stars" by John Green. Everyone and his or her dog is raving about it and that even the most cold-hearted person had to shed tears.
I felt sooo indifferent while reading it, even annoyed at some point. I still liked it, but it was vastly different from my reading experience with "Paper Towns", another book by John Green.
So I totally understand you. :D

I really want to read Redshirts, it looks hilarious (and I do often wonder about them red shirts in Star Trek ;)) but I haven't quite gotten around to reading it. Interesting that it's quite idea-driven as a story, I never would've guessed (for whatever reason) =)
