Hunger Games

I am still trying to stay away from computers (well, as much as I can because my job IS all about them): my back (sacroiliac joint) is still not well and sitting is not very comfortable. This all said about sitting, I was tempted by free tickets (my friend’s son works in a cinema so he got some free tickets for himself, his mother and me) and went ( Read more... )

as much as I love Jennifer, I still wish someone younger was cast for her role i totally agree. i really like jennifer too, but she looked too adult for me. i didn't feel as though she was as frightened and vulnerable as i did when reading the book ( ... )

I feel the same way about the films. I'm currently finishing the 2nd book in the series, and while they're very plot-driven and intense, they just seem empty, and the visual aspect of the film really increased my interest.

I think that Effie was my favorite part of the film. The level of delusion and denial in the Capital people's lives intrigues me, and I wonder how they justify what goes on.

That is the most epic beard in the world.

this!

i would have loved a pov from someone in the capitol!!!! what could they be thinking as they watched the small ones slaughtered? and the whole sponsorship connection. at least that i can understand. many like to feel as though they have the power of life and death over someone.

i also wanted a pov from someone in another district but alas....

love to hear your thoughts on the books. you should post something :)

I intend to post something when I've finished the trilogy! It looks as though I'll be starting on Mockingjay either this evening or tomorrow.

I was very surprised at how much I disliked it. :/

It's kind of weird...I don't ACTIVELY dislike it and I can't really put my finger on what it is that I DIDN'T like...but I was so bored, antsy and restless for most of it.

I enjoyed the performances by Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Lenny Kravitz.

I guess I felt like some of the changes were a bit detrimental to the storytelling and character development.

I always thought it a shame Wes Bentley effectively disappeared after American Beauty. I wish we'd seen him in a full career, although it's nice that he's "back," I guess.
