NOT ENOUGH VICTARION! I was being all "but where is he?" during the three quarter of the book. But his chapters where PHENOMENAL tbh. Actually the Greyjoy's just were. Asha's, Theon's #clutches heart# and Victarion's. They were incredible to read and to live.
Quentyn was doomed :/. Pity because I really cared for him.
Lol the all Brienne/Jaime thing had me completely puzzled tbh. I didn't even understood.
But Asha has an OTP!!!!!!!!! I missed it on my skimming read , but someone pointed it out. And poor Thoeon, I know martin likes his "eye for an eye", but may be he has enough already?
She does sleep with a guy yes. But I absolutely loved Tries. I'm pretty sure everyone is going to ship her with the pretty guy because she obviously digs him and they have hot moments but I freakin love how selfless Tries love is towards her. He is keeping true what he said to her in book 4.
Jaime/Brienne was "wtf?" for real. I read the four lines and was all "oh well... that's some great informations here...*rolleyes*". He just trolled everyone ^^.
I thought her main problem with Tries (was this his name?) wanted a family and babies with Asha, and she wanted none of that. Or am I missing the point?
Victarion does seem to elicit extreme reactions; people either love him, or don't bother to acknowledge him. I couldn't help but chuckle at his "blunt instrument" antics. (Hopefully that doesn't make me a sadist.) And his story ended on such a cliff-hanger - "claim the horn with blood"? Eeeee. And maybe because she is back in the Dorathki sea, and also delirious from hunger/thirst/pain as well, but I am a little surprised (and kinda touched) that Dany still thinks about her sun-and-stars. ("Sun-and-stars"... still love the ring of that term.) It's nice to hear their love was genuine and she was at her happiest. Jon is awesome, but yeah HBO Jon does zilch for me I'm afraid so...
I was never a big Dany shipper (I do not get how rape can turn into a Big Love), but yes, seh is still remembering him, which I think is compliant with the prophesy stuff - we had some prophesies about 3 Loves for Dany, didn't we?
I am afraid that it will be Victarion, not Euron in the "A corpse stood at the prow of a ship, eyes bright in his dead face, grey lips smiling sadly", that he will turn into another undead thing.
*meekly* Although I am sure many will stone me for saying this, but you know, in the book, I didn't get a sense of rape... I think GRRM said it himself, that Drogo possesses not only all the fierceness of a Khal, but also warmth and tenderness. I am curious about Mirri Maz Durr's prophecy/curse. Now some folks are even suggesting that maybe baby Rheago in fact never did die but was secretly given away by MMD (!). People are frustrated with Dany's storyline, but I am a very patient gal so I am OK with her trials and errors. The red priest keeps saying he glimpses the glory that awaits Victarion. Uh oh. I am worried this "glory" might be a glorious death where he is succulently roasted by dragon fire. Victarion's story shows promise, I kind of don't want him to be killed off so quick...
I agree I don't think Brienne would just lead Jaime to die (at least I hope not) but either way they are going to be in some trouble when they turn up in WoW. You just know Brienne won't be able to leave Pod to die for her and then if she doesn't kill Jaime un!Cat will be after them both. D: I'm just so worried for them. But how cute was Jaime when she turned up? Omg <3 I can't believe GRRM couldnt give us a little more of them
I felt bad for Quentyn he seemed really sweet and Dany was so rude and dumb with him.
I loved the epilogue! As much as I try to make myself care about essos and meereen really I want to read about Westeros and that chapter set things up so much. I felt bad for Kevan but I liked Varys showing up. And Pycelle is finally dead lol
Jaime/Brienne's storyline sets me off on a worrying spree everytime I remember it. On one hand: Martin won't kill anyone behind the scenes. OTOH, if you rememebr, all the major deaths are somehow connected with the issue of honor (Ned, Robb, even Oberyn Martell). In my opinion it can go either way here - Brienne can leave the notions of honour behind and everyone WILL BE FINE, or she might stick with the inflexible notions of honor and everything will end badly.
I am not sure where Dany is going yet, but I want her in Westeros already. :D

I don't think Jaime is dead, I agree that he wouldn't just kill him behind the scenes but I am very afraid that he could end up dead by the end of WoW. There are just so many people that would want to kill him, and if Brienne doesn't kill him un!Cat is still going to want him, and probably Brienne too, dead.

Do you like Jon? I like him a lot in the books, but became really disappointed in the show. I might love him again , in the new book.
