I have gulped frour episodes of "Tsuki no Koibito" in one go today and loved it, but with a BUT.

Main OTP:Theoretically I love this set-up, an icy-cold rich man saved from sure heart-failure (by freezing) by the love of a warm-hearted poor girl, who takes him in her arms and melts his icy heart ( Read more... )

he can't act to save her life which is painfully visible next to the other leads, all excellent actors

THANK YOU!!!! My point exactly! Pssst, I love the cold-hearted jerk falls for outgoing simple girl cliché AND the rich guy/poor girl trope. And yet, yet...

Maemi is beyond awesome. I adore her, I want to meet her in RL and be her friend. She is wonderful.

Isn't she? I adore too. I want to BFF with her. *nods* She's awesome all around.

She needs to get over Rensuke (because why would she want to be with someone who is not worthy of her ?) and run away with Matsuda Shota's character. Same here. Unless of course Ren doesn't realize what an IDIOT he's been and BEGS her to take him, which would be nice to see. Then again, she's really out of his league, imho. I'm So torn. I'm not so sure about Shota's character though. He seems like he has a secret agenda against Rensuke (he's totally hiding something) and IDK, his crush on Maemi is cute, but they seem mismatched? Gah! IDK. All I want is Maemi to be happy, I don't care with or ( ... )

After so many years, I am not sure I wvwn want him to realise that he is an idiot. OK, I get it that we can't make ourselves to fall in love with someone. But taking Maemi entirely for granted????? This is so wrong!

Shota's character definitely has some agenda, which makes him not a good partner for Maemi. But if he can give / resolve his obsession with whatever Ren did in the past, he will be fine. At the moment , as Ren's shadow (and he only does it because he has an agenda) - no , he is not good enough for Maemi. If he ever strikes on his own - he will be fine, I think.

I really, really do. I want to see the scene in which he finally sees the light and thinks back to all the times she was there for him, loving him, supporting him and he didn't see that. I want that for *her*; she deserves some kind of recognition. I want to see him slap himself, I want to see him SUFFER -just as much as she suffered for him!- if she wavers or really falls for someone else. I want him to realize that he let the only good thing in his life slip away because he was a total MORON. Heh. I must admit this is where I'm torn: if I want him to just pine away and suffer and eventually move on (cos he totally doesn't deserve her!) or if I want him to fight back and win her over again after a period of much needed pain. But whatever, I want to see some suffering. Am I a sadist because I want that? See, this is why jdoramas fail to engage me; if TnK was a kdrama, I'd get to see all that, I'd get to see some major character growth and emoting, but TnK is plot-oriented, like most jdoramas and slakdjsldjad there's SO much potential ( ... )

He-he! I think you are romantic. I am cruel - I want him to start appreciating how great she is, but AFTER losing her.

I'm afraid TnK just hasn't enough screen-time to tackle that topic as well. Which -again- is a pity.

I agree - I don't think there is enough time for this. But I still hope for openish-ending for them :D

She's so bad I get secondhand embarrassment from watching her. The whole nose-rubbing scene with Rensuke? Paaaaaainful.

This is exactly what I mean. ** cringes *8 The funny thing is, Takuya constantly has one expression on his face, that of "Oh noeeeeeeeeees"! The "cute" moment with cotton wool candy was awful too. If I was Ren, i would have ran away screaming.

I really really liked the first episode of GetsuKoi, but sadly it has gone downhill from there. It is honestly starting to bore me and that is such a disappointment. I will finish it because it is only 7 episodes and there is Kimutaku and Shota, but I do understand why the ratings are so low. :(

Yes, I agree, I think for me as a viewer so many things depended on XM being interesting to the viewer and she just wasn't. When Ren leaves her a message in the diary? Normally I would have been swooning over something like this, but here - I was bored . I just keep waiting for Maemi's scenes and Shota scenes. Even Takuya, INHO didn't do as good job as he usually does (but this is just m opinion).

I agree with you. The note would have been awesome in a really good drama, but I had already forgotten about it until you mentioned it. lol. Kimura seems a bit disillusioned by his character and the drama. He said before it started airing that he hated Ren and it must be hard to really get into a character you dislike a lot. Still he is so professional, he could do more. But when you have most your scenes with someone like Lin Chi Ling, it must be tough, and the writing is so uninspired. It's Monday tomorrow and I am not even looking forward to it. I just started watching Jejungwon and I love it. It's been such a long time since I watched a drama longer than 24 episodes, but I have a feeling JJW will be worth it.

Oh, that makes sense! It does indeed seem as if Takuya hates himself when acting. And to be fair - by the episode 4 I would have expected Ren's layers to start coming off. And also some explanation as to why he is this way could have been nice. His parents divorced and he wasn't popular at the college? This is a bit silly - this will fit a half of population!

I enjoyed Jejungwon , it basically went all the way as it started, a really good drama. I adored Seok Ran (one of the best female charcaters of ever!) and Mr. Hwang is a darling.

i have to admit, i am not a kimutaku fan. i tried watching his dramas and everytime he leaves me with the same feeling. he is always the same in every single one of his dramas. this one no suprise. my only reason of watching TnK was Ryoko Shinohara because i have missed her so much these years that she was missing from drama world.
SO agree with you on the fact that Chi Ling can't act. she is not a loved character in here not because she is competing with maemi to get Rensuke's love but because she just can't act her character right and she has zero chemistry with kimutaku.
i laughed at how someone described her on DA. she is 37 year old acting as 28 years old but only manage to portray a 14 year old teenager with her style of acting.
she really deos irritates me to the point of thinking of dropping the whole thing.

I am usually a huge fan of Kimutaku - but count me puzzled with this one. Like itshelene said, it feels as is he hates his role, or something.

Chi Ling : so bad I have no words. And she is 37? I thought she looked a bit older than the role implied. And yes - she comes across as immature imbecile, but this is just because she can't act.

I like Shota and Shinohara Ryoko so much - I will finish it if just for their sakes.

I really don't know what they were thinking when they cast Lin Chi Ling. Normally I'm pretty forgiving when an actor isn't the strongest. But when the other lead actress is Shinohara Ryoko the difference it pretty hard to ignore.

I also want Maemi and Shota's character to end up together because she totally deserves better than Rensuke.

I am inclined to think of all sorts of conspiracies and favours - I can't believe that they didn't just notice that she can't act. :D

I also want Maemi and Shota's character to end up together because she totally deserves better than Rensuke.

I have a bit of a hope here - the writer had the secondary girl and the secondary guy together at the end in "Innocent Love" (even though he was gay and this was consequently a little ridiculous). I have hope. :D

There has to be something going on in the background. Because, sure, she's pretty, but she doesn't stand a chance against all the heavy-hitters in this drama.

Here's hoping!
