Author’s Note: This holiday short is a sequel to the Veteran’s Day short. I don’t think it’s absolutely necessary to have read that one to appreciate this, but it definitely sets the context and explains the relationships. I also realized that I should give credit to a song by Shawn Mullins for the names of characters in both stories.
