A lot of those ideas are stupendous. A lot of them get rid of things I need in a system. And a lot of the ideas are entirely scary and fascist. Government regimented OS specifications ( ... )

I agree with Phil on the needing folders and the "A giant screen with just tiny blocks of text would be so ugly and stupid and aggravating to look at", but maybe not so much with the "stupid" but just sub in "boring".

You sort of know this so I'm mostly just commenting to say that I thought guns was an entry in your tags list.

I have not tried Archy yet. I plan to as soon as regain use my own computer.

I don't know how much I like the idea of a ZUI. Having tried a rough mock-up, I didn't really get the feeling of it being terribly efficient. I can see search strings as being faster in any situation. Also, if your documents are labeled properly, I don't know if there would be a huge need for grouping, since the content should be able to have enough similarities for a group of files to be associated by search strings ( ... )
