I don't know if you have seen this recent article of Lee, but I thought I'd show it to ya and to the rest of the Lee fans on my flist. It talks about The Empire Diner where Lee used to work many years ago and sadly of its departure. It was posted saterday May 22 of last year in the jersey city review.

Here's the link: Goodbye Old Friend.

It was such a bummer to see it go! When I was there last year for Mobfest, the waiter (his name happened to be Chris...hee...& he'd hung out with Lee @ Gay Pride) told us it was closing and it did, in the following weeks (oh yeah, that article is from 2010, just noticed). ;) Great pic of Lee!

HA! I just noticed that too. :P
It looked pretty recent. I think it was the date that tricked me lol. I thought it was pretty cool to find out where Lee used to work before he became famous.

Such a bummer that its gone. I would have loved to seen the place and try out there food.

At first I thought this happened recently because its dated for May. I had to look again and see it was of last year lol.
I love finding out interesting facts of Celebrities before they became famous. I especally love the rather large photo this article posted of Lee.

It's no problem. Always happy to be of service to the Lee fans. :)

I used to love going there.
Another landmark gone because of greed. I'm sure the landlords are going to charge at least 10 times what the last owners paid for rent.
Wonderful picture of Lee! I wish I had been there when he worked there. I would've been flirting with him and doing silly things like leaving my number on a napkin,or putting his tip in his pocket(along with my number),etc.
LOL-it's probably better I didn't see him back then!

Sorry it took so long to reply. Please forgive me.

No doubt the land is being charged more then its worth. Its that way everywhere sadly.

I would have flirted with Lee like crazy too if I ever met him before he was famous at the diner. I dunno if Id have the courage to leave him my number. Flirting I can handle but giving a guy my digits, I still get shy lol. :)
