This is so engaging, so much said so precisely in so few words, the whole thing quietly cutting. I love the cleanness of Castiel's point of view, the lack of human emotion but still the persistence of doubt, the insistent self-reassurance in the form of impersonal heavenly creed. The little forays into the minds of the victims-and the simple but earnest portrayals of their hopes-are all the more potent and poignant for Cas's would-be detachment. Such a good glimpse into heaven's workings through Castiel, and Castiel through heaven's workings.
