Today is passover. The Jews on campus are doing a full seder. I haven't been to one of those in years. Funny since most of the others are at least slightly religious and never miss a year. So even though I seem to be one of the more Jewish among the group, after all I speak Hebrew, have close contact with my Israeli family, have the passport even, ( Read more... )

Have you ever heard David Cross' stand-up about being Jewish? It is pretty harsh, but quite brilliant. He talks about how synagogues have movable walls to accommodate all of the people who just turn up on religious holidays . . . good stuff. I, myself, am more of a Festivus man but have a good Passover - is that what you wish people? Merry Passover? Happy Passover? Is it a happy occasion?

Happy passover...at least that's what you say in Hebrew. It was actually really nice. A seder in three languages: french, hebrew, and english. And tons of good food, jokes, and fun. Generally, a really nice holiday celebration.
