Thank you for all those! I had seen Bag End before but not any of the others. I have a friend who furnishes doll houses, usually in period style (her favourite is Jane Austen) and another friend who does tiny miniatures including landscapes in things like match boxes and walnut shells. They have both shown me some beautiful examples of their own and others' art. It's all amazing!!
It must be really great to see such art live, not just on photos! Are your friends' works presented online? Speaking of walnuts, I saw somewhere a cutest squirrel made sleeping in a walnut shell. The two halves were joined with a hinge, and there was the squirrel's pantry in the other half.
So far as I know, neither of them have an online presence for their art. The dollhouse person is not into photographs or anything online other than maybe email and ebay, and the miniaturist runs an online group(possibly Yahoo) but I don't know the name of it. The squirrel and his/her pantry sound wonderful!!
Aren't those chocolates just yummy? I had this feeling too. *g* "Why they have to be inedible! Not fair!"
And if you have some time, check out my lists - even if you may not be in the fandoms, you may enjoy all the tiny things I use to set up scenes. I have looked around a little, and yes, seems like I'll find a lot to enjoy!
And if only I could find those pictures of the miniature book shop again. Maybe I could help? You remember anything? :)
Check out this video - it is beyond cute and awesome (and real food I think I have seen recently some photos of real miniature food, but looks like it's a much more developed activity/trend than I thought. I wonder if these pancakes are as good as they're look. I'd happily test those. :)
