This rings painfully true!

I guess there's advantages to living in total obscurity.

At least for a character. Maybe I should at least draw him a bottle of rum for my cruelty?

Yeah, I thought just about Jack (and characters/canons in general), but for JD and other actors such phenomenon is really nasty and not funny at all.

It's been a subject of much discussion for me that I believe Mr. Depp is a lovely human and a good actor, however, I LOVE Jack Sparrow, no doubt about it.

I was reared Methodist and I'm afraid, right or wrong, what my religious training taught me was I get to choose what I want to believe...sorta like a buffet I suppose, but I only get control of meownself. I'm smitten, but only in control of this little peabrain and short round meat.

A good approach, IMO. Far more honest than the oh-so-popular "I'm innocent, I only do what my religion orders me". I always grind my teeth hearing this 'argument'. Man, I want reply then, whatever your religion orders or forbids you, you have chosen this religion in the first place.
(Huh, posting what I considered an interesting observation in the form of satire, I'd never thought it'll lead to such grave discussions. :)
