LiveJournal lays off 20 out of 28 employees

The bubble in social networking has burst, decisively. LiveJournal, the San Francisco-based arm of Sup, a Russian Internet startup, has cut about 20 of 28 employees - and offered them no severance, we're told.

Wow... that's awful. Guess we'll see what happens... I'm backing up my stuff tonight. Hopefully my permanent account won't end up costing $150 for a year and a half.

I'm not sure yet, to be honest. :) One of my friends mentioned she was backing hers up and had already done so a month or two ago, so I'm bugging her for details. I'll report back when I hear back from her.
