Dear Mathew
We arrived at Desiderata Valley in the middle of fall.
The weather is much fresher than I'm used to, but only gets cold at nights.
I was able to find a new nanny fairly quickly, and a job in the local school.
Substitute teachers are always needed and welcomed, luckily for me.
I really enjoy teaching, and the schedule is perfect, but being pregnant didn't give me much time to get use to the new school before finding myself in maternity leave again.
I can't even pretend to be surprised about this, though. Maybe my behavior was questionable and my motives selfish, but I wanted another child. You can even say it's a misguided attempt to fill the emptiness Obea left, but I need this baby...
Anyways, compared to Belladonna Cove, it's very small here, but the few neighbors are all so welcoming and sociable, it didn't take me long to get acquainted with almost everyone in town.
Natasha Una, especially, quickly became one of my first friends here. She's an artist and owns a professional photography studio. I try to spend some time with her when it's possible. She's friendly, uplifting, and so talented.
She introduced me to several of her friends as well,
but honestly I enjoy her company a lot more than anyone else's in town.
Probably the only exception is Cyd Roseland. He owns the Pet's store and the dedication he shows to his pets, and dogs especially, is fascinating.
Contagious even. It makes me wonder if maybe my kids could use a furry friend, even if only a small one.
But for now, the girls are a hand full, and though it gets easier each time, being pregnant still drains most of my energy.
The kids enjoy their new school, and are making new friends quickly.
They spend a lot of time either in the playground with classmates,
or visiting their houses after school.
And there are also various entertainment and sports centers around, so the kids keep themselves occupied and mostly away from home. Besides, not only the town is safe with everything close together, but Jonas is very responsible, and the kids are growing up as well, so I feel confident letting them go by themselves.
Of course, it doesn't make me happy to see so little of them lately, so I join them when possible.
But is good to know Lander and Maya enjoy going out with their older sibling when I stay behind with the toddlers --and Gaspar. He was born in the middle of the morning, right after I've put the girls to nap, so the commotion woke them both up, but I was so happy to finally hold him.
