Yes, actually the idea of doing custom eyes is to have more color choices for the posters I want to do, so contacts is the first thing I did with them (easier way to change eye colors for that sort of thing). I just never thought anyone would like them lol (and I want to do custom and default versions before posting them)
Thanks to kinemortophobia, who had those replacements done too. :) I used a few of her files as base for the packages, because I have no idea how to do them from scratch.
Are you planing to use these eyes too?? Because if you rather keep the ones you are using so far, I can make you these same replacements with those. (the fact that eyes and skin must go together for all the paranormal creatures is a bit of a pain in the ass, imo, but is not too hard to do either)
I tried out the eyes too in my game today, and so far, I quite like them. :D Thank you for the offer, though! If I start missing my old replacements, I'll let you know. :)
So these are all face replacements? That's great! ^_^ Though I guess the overlays have to be full-body, right?
Do you mind if I make some edits of these myself? I couldn't find any mention of your policies on this, but all I'd want to do is switch out the eyes for the Phobia edits I use in my game. I think you've greatly improved those default Maxis eyes, but they're still not for me.
I don't have much of a policy, but all the details I could think of are at the end in the notes. :)
In short, only the plantsims and genie changed the actual face, but you can edit them to change the eyes, no problem. The rest (vampire, werewolves, bigfoot) are only changing the eyes, so you won't need them. (and jic the vampire overlay is face only too, but didn't want to mess up with the transparency, so I didn't touch the face texture)
Let me know if you have any problem. (I offer to make the replacements with other eyes too, but if you already know how to even better)
Okay, great. So your replacement file is still a face-only replacement, even for the overlays. That saves space, so I'll probably look at edited yours, even if it is just for the eyes. I've been wanting to select the exact hues I wanted, anyway. smjosmsims made some creature replacements with the more Maxis-match Phobia eye edits he made, but I'd love to do my own tweaks, and I love your added skin details on the genie and plantsims, of course.
I'll have no problem replacing the eyes on my own. I've done my own bigfoot and genie in the past, though I never got around to sharing them. Do you mind if I share my edits of these creature replacements, after I complete them? I'll link to your originals, of course.
I'm planning to make a post to rave about your completed skins once I get into the game to test them, anyway. I've had a couple of people ask about them, but they weren't up for public download before, so I'm sure they'll be happy to see these final versions. ^_^
Of course, I don't mind! ^_^ I really like how your sims look, so it'd be great to see any edit you do on these. Plus, more eye options is always welcomed. (I've noticed that textures may loose quality between importing/exporting, tho, so I could send you the pngs files too if you want.)
And, jic, I checked on several replacements before doing these, including Josh's, and most of them are face only as well. I used several of kinemortophobia's and engram's packages as base for mine. (First I wanted to learn how to do those from scratch, but thought it was better to go for the safer, and easier, way lol)
Again, I'm really pleased you like them and it's great to heard others like them too. I heart people who appreciate maxis-match, and I don't say so because it's my skins or whatever, but because it shows that with just a few small fixes the defaults aren't that F-ugly ;)
