Back in May, one of my friends from Uptown and I (and one of his friends from Second City's conservatory program) moved down to Wicker Park, a much younger, safer, more cultured neighborhood of Chicago. I feel your pain. I have spent literally over 12 hours on the phone with Verizon trying to get my friend's phone lines and internet figured out. And literally they make every mistake possible, and I'm convinced it's just to piss you off enough that you'll stop bothering them.

Sorry to hear this. Comcast has a monopoly in my area, and I can't get Internet any other way (excerpt by dial-up). I haven't had any problem, though, ... yet.
