Anyone interested?

I am thinking about fasting.  Would anyone be interested in doing it with me?  I'm thinking about a 72 hour fast (3 days) but will take it one day at a time.

**As a side note, this is compltely NOT for dietary reasons, but for spiritual ones.**

spirituality, fast

Aww Izzy, I'd fast with you but my body can't handle going without food. I tend to get the shakes if I go too long without eating. I thought I might be diabetic, but it's been checked several times and I'm not - blood sugars are normal. I don't really know what it is, but it's very uncomfortable. My hands start to shake. :(

I'm sorry.

(and on a side note.. I figured it was spiritual when I read the post. :) Sounds like the famines they do.. my cousin's actually taking part in one - apparently.. a 30 hour famine or something)

It's OK. Maybe you can just cheer me on when I do it.

I want to try it. I need to clear my head and my body and this might work. I might make it pass two hours but it'll be worth the effort LOL

It might be hypoglycemia which is a similar thing to diabetes although not as overtly dangerous. Chris and I are the same; too long without food and we get very sickly. It's just a drop in your blood sugar, but it came make a huge difference!

I've never been diagnosed with anything like that, but yea, I'd think it's a drop in blood sugar because after I've eaten I feel much better.

I would do it,if I didn't have kiddos, but I do wish you luck. I plan on doing something like that, but when the kids are older. I would love to go on a spiritual retreat that involved fasting.

Oh yes, a spiritual retreat of any kind would be fabolous.

I've got one kiddo to worry about, but she'll be with my parents for the couple days I'm thinking of doing it, so it might work.

I wish I could, but I can't. There's too many balls to juggle and I, like Cheri, can't handle no food. I'd love to try it sometime when life was less mad though. After saying all that, I support you fully and hope it helps you feel better!! *HUG* Best wishes my lovely!

I am expecting to feel dizzy and lightheaded and shaky. I go through that if I don't get food. I will make sure to have some crackers on hand if needed be. I've been on an wful binge lately and it needs to stop. I also want to get in touch with my inner self and just prove to myself that I can do something.
