Fanservice

Yesterday in my Cultural Anthropology class we talked about Sexual Behavior (i.e. sexual partners). I brought up how in South Korea, they act like homosexuality doesn't exist. seeing as how fangirls like it and perpetuate fanservice by pairing up members of boy bands in homosexual relationships.

Do you think it might have something to do with the fact that fangirls are ~jealous of other girls and will put up more easily with the thought of sharing their oppas with other oppas rather than with other women?

Yes, that is something that I didn't mention. Members of boy bands can't date women because of the jealousy fangirls feel and how much hate the woman they would date would receive and, a lot of times, company policy. However for reasons I can't understand, fangirls are usually ok with the thought of said members being more than just really close friends with each other. Since they can't be in relationships with women, who might they turn to? They would turn to the people who they are around the most and who would understand them and their crazy lives the best, i.e. members of the band they're in.

Now this brings up the question of whether homosexuality comes from nature (you're born that way) or whether it is nurtured (performing fanservice and all that goes along with it turns you gay). Personally I think some members of boy bands could be homosexual before entering into a band (I mean, you never know) while some might become homosexual or more realistically, bisexual (liking both men and women).
