Context is scattered pieces all over the Addergoole stories:
Regine started the school, in part, because her first child (like Mike's first, like Luke's first) did not Change.
Agatha and Liliandra are her children; Agatha's a sadistic bitch and Liliandra's... probably psycopathic, I've never done a study on her details.
I've mentioned in passing that Regine pulls her own genes out of the genetic program involved in Addergoole. This is the beginning of that.
