I thought sortinghatdrabs seemed like a really good idea. I want to take part, as well, but there hasn't been anything that I feel I can write yet. I like Ron/Pansy, but my mind went blank when I saw the prompt for this week.

re: the 13-year-old kid, i thought i'd read somewhere that he might not be the dad because apparently the girl had fucked a bunch of guys around the same time? what happened with that?

The Alfie Pattern situation disturbs and saddnes me greatly,I mean, 13 is so young, but on top of that he looks more like he's 10. It has be everywhere over here because its caused such a scandle. Half the population seem to agree with him and his parents selling stories left right and centre and half are absolutely outraged. At least the press coverage seems to be fairly well controlled interviews at the moment rather than all gossip and tittle tattle.

Neil Gaiman is such a cutie. I read that thing about alfie a few weeks ago and found it quite hilarious that everyone was so bent out of shape since there are 11 year old females over here in USA that give birth semi-regularly. It is really sad still, and how they tried to portray the mom as sort of pressuring him into it in one of the articles I read. I think it's very curious with how forward thinking they are about sex ed and contraception over there that this 13 year old kid didn't know that's where babies came from. And the thing about the pocket money is just hilarious.

well, it's sad regardless when these situations happen. girls as young as 11 have children all the time in south asia b/c of poverty and ignorance, but i find it worse when it happens in developed nations.

OMG HE WAS SUCH A BABY! well, he was only 15 when he joined the band..

i completely agree with your sentiments on the censorship. i just found it even more sad given the content of the speech and how beautiful and moving they were. people ought to have a chance to listen to such words!
