Sometimes I have to wonder why I still believe in love.

You make a good point.

"We let it slip away, man. It died. We let it die.

What happened?

Not enough of this. Of this, this... all this.

If you want to improve, be content to be thought stupid and foolish."

Strike that:

We let it slip away, you know?

That's the point. It-- You know, it died. We died.

- What was the cause of death?

Not enough of all of this.... of this, of this.

And not enough, you know? Do you-- Do you remember the philosopher Epictetus? You remember what he said?

He said, "If you want to improve, be content to be thought foolish and stupid."

That's what you've done.

Well, I think some people focus too much on the failures and forget that there are success stories.

I get why people who have had failed relationships don't believe in love or feel like giving up. But there really are success stories. Yah, the divorce rate is over 50%...and things don't always work out, but there have been a lot of couples who have been happily married for years. There are a lot of couples who grow old together and die within months of one another.

But people aren't perfect. People tend to invest too much time on the wrong relationships/people or they do the opposite and give up too quickly. Love is something that you have to work at, but both people have to be willing to work. You will find someone who wants to be with you just as much as you want to be with them. You will find someone who will enjoy the ups and who will work through the downs. And when that person comes along, it will feel so much better because you waited so long.

I'm glad you still believe in love. Don't ever stop. Being heart-broken sucks a lot less if you are still optimistic.

Yes, yes of course.

*hug* I'm sorry you need to, though. But it'll be okay.

*hug* I know. It just hurts a lot in the meantime. And my eyes feel horribly dehydrated.

But yeah. It'll be okay.
